Statement
The genesis of my work is the biological. I think about what is happening in ponds, meadows, or living things beneath the surface. I wonder about the activities of cells, structures and small organisms down to the cellular and sub-cellular level. Although loosely based on the biological, the work is filtered through my imagination. I aim to take a moment out of an active system and invite the viewer there for a brief snapshot.
This work is a reflection the thoughts that bombard my consciousness in the middle of the night. It's the first in a series of works named for hours in the day.
